"A Friend Indeed" received a standing ovation at it's screening in the Kansas International Film Festival, and was voted the "#1 Audience Favorite" in this highly competitive festival. Along with the Audience Award trophy, the documentary is receiving a 1 week theatrical run at the Glenwood Arts Theater in Overland Park, Kansas, starting Friday October 3rd. (Special Note: Due to popular demand "A Friend Indeed" was held over for a second week!)

At its Film Festival debut, "A Friend Indeed" was honored with the "Best Documentary Award", the "Troy Peters Best Iowa Film Award", and was voted the "#1 Audience Favorite" at the Hardacre Film Festival in Tipton Iowa on August 2, 2008. Lane Wyrick attended the event which featured an international selection of documentaries and narrative films.
