Previews at 3:30 session - Full Screening at 6 p.m.

The ARC

Lane Wyrick will be giving a presentation on "A Friend Indeed" at The Arc's National Convention in Albuquerque for over 600 attendees representing chapters of The Arc across the nation. Scenes from the movie will be shown during the main plenary session, and Wyrick will discuss the documentary and Bill's life and the possibilities to bring the documentary to chapters of The Arc around the US. (Kickoff for the event will feature the keynote speech by Geraldo Rivera of Fox News and nationally recognized lecturer on disabilities, Tom Pomerantz.)

JUST ANNOUNCED: "A Friend Indeed - The Bill Sackter Story" will then be screened in its entirety starting around 6 p.m. that evening for free - for all convention goers to attend.

This will be the national launch date for chapters of The Arc (and others who are interested) to purchase a Public Performance License to screen the documentary in their area. Details will be coming soon on this website. If you are interested in hosting a screening or having Lane Wyrick come to your organization to give a presentation and screening, please email Lane@BillSackter.com for more details.

The Arc was very important to Bill, and he made many appearances along with Barry Morrow at various functions to meet with people with disabilities in the last years of Bill's life. During this convention, there will be two recipients of the national "Bill Sackter Award" awarded to people with disabilities that were able to make a difference and live productive lives. Bill's legacy lives on, and now people will know the real Bill!

The Arc is a national advocacy organization for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Founded in 1950, The Arc includes over 140,000 members affiliated through more than 850 state and local chapters across the nation. More information at The Arc's Website
