"A Friend Indeed" received a standing ovation at it's screening in the Kansas International Film Festival, and was voted the "#1 Audience Favorite" in this highly competitive festival. Along with the Audience Award trophy, the documentary is receiving a 1 week theatrical run at the Glenwood Arts Theater in Overland Park, Kansas, starting Friday October 3rd. (Special Note: Due to popular demand "A Friend Indeed" was held over for a second week!)

"A Friend Indeed" was voted the "#1 Audience Favorite" at the New Strand Film Festival, receiving a great amount of audience support and interest, especially during the Q&A following the screening.
Held at the independently run New Strand Theater in West Liberty, Iowa the festival featured many quality films during this weekend event. Wyrick also received the "Iowa Filmmaker Award" during the Friday night ceremony.

Lane Wyrick attended the Omaha Film Festival, and had very lively discussions after the two scheduled screenings of "A Friend Indeed". It was then voted the "#1 Audience Favorite" and was then shown for a third screening in the Great Escape Theaters in Omaha.
It also received the highest audience rating on b-Side Entertainment, the festival's unofficial tally of audience interest. The Omaha Film Festival competition featured many great documentaries and feature films that were selected amongst hundreds of film entries.

Held at the independently run Collins Road Theater in Marion, Iowa the festival featured 30 films from around the country in this two day event. Along with the two awards, Wyrick received a "IndiSliderPro" from Studio 4 Productions for use in creating smooth tracking shots.

At its Film Festival debut, "A Friend Indeed" was voted the "#1 Audience Favorite" at the Hardacre Film Festival in Tipton Iowa on August 2, 2008. It was also honored with the "Best Documentary Award" and the "Best Iowa Film Award".
Lane Wyrick attended the event which featured an international selection of documentaries and narrative films.
